A FOOTPATH all the way from the Riverside Village at Doonbah to Evans Head will be very welcome for residents both in town and at the village.
Riverside Village Residents Committee president Stan Williams said work on the new footpath should be finished by the end of this month.
“It will start at the village on the south side of Evans Head-Woodburn Rd,” he said.
“Then it will cross to the north side near the Blue Pool Road into Evans Head.”
Linking the village with Evans Head will be a big advantage for the 120 residents who live there, according to committee secretary Kay Terrey.
“It’s a link to the town centre,” she said.
“We have residents who are cyclists and keen walkers so it will be a great asset to them.”
The footpath was required as part of a development application to extend the village, Mr Williams said.
“It will be great for any member of the public to use,” he said.
