Many thanks go to the wonderful friends and family of Jane Cornish who supported the Charity Bowls Day held at the Evans Head Bowling Club on Saturday, 30 November.

The day started off with Barefoot Bowls at 5:30 pm. While there was no abundance of skill, there certainly were plenty of laughs and fun attached to every game.

At sun down the actions shifted into the club where the community of friends and family enjoyed a sausage sizzle while getting ready for the monster raffles. Everyone was a winner whether you won a prize or not. There were plenty of laughs and a good time was had by all.

The raffles were followed by an equally impressive auction that drew in many spirited bidders.

To say that the whole afternoon was a huge success would be an understatement. Many thanks must go to the friends and family of Jane who turned up in great numbers to support Jane in her time of need.

For those who do not know, Jane is suffering from Hodgkin lymphoma. We wish her all the best in her treatment for this cancer.

A special thanks must go to the FANTASTIC LOCAL BUSINESSES who donated time, goods and money to make this charity day such a success. This is a vital reminder to support your local businesses, especially in this time coming up to Christmas. They need to earn a living to enable them to support our local community.

Well done to everyone involved! Together you have raised over $20,000 to support Jane and her family in their time of need.
