THE decimated remnants of a boat remain sitting on the rocks south of Evans Head following a crash at Redhill last night.
Volunteer Rescue Association regional controller for Northern Rivers Stephen Reading said about 8pm the 5.5 to 6m boat was tossed into the rocks.
“It seems the vessel has broken down and the anchor hasn’t caught, so the boat was swept towards the shore,” he said.
“The two blokes (from Evans Head) got a few scrapes, bumps and bruises from scrambling up the rocks and onto a walking track into Evans Head.
“The boat’s still sitting there now breaking into pieces.”
After following the walking track the pair sought help at a resident’s home.
